These two brackets are what hold the unit up. USSR Mustangs Unlimited air conditioning evaporator mounting brackets pair for 1966 Mustang 44. There is a spacer bar sold separately used between them and the dash to give enough space hang housing. They are bolted to the evaporator housing and then in turn bolt dash itself.

The A/C unit seen underneath dash, one with registers vents control knobs on front, is actually evaporator housing. 95 A/C evaporator mounting brackets, pair for 1966 Mustang.
